A new study in the journal Nature shows that fructose promotes the tumor growth of melanoma, cervical cancer, and breast cancer in animals. With the rise of ultra-processed food over the last fifty years, our sugar consumption has drastically increased. Sadly, cancer diagnoses in young adults has also been on the rise. Researchers hope we can use this information to ‘starve’ the cancer cells.

Why older people should connect with their inner child.

As we age our mitochondria – responsible for the cell’s energy – begins to decline. It leads to fatigue and accelerated aging. However, new research in Nature Communications reveals that we soon may be able to recharge the mitochondria. Scientists believe this would extend health lifespans and help patients better fight off diseases.

Can you hack a good night’s sleep?

Rest is necessary for our brain health and cognitive function, but can we get these benefits without the recommended eight hours of shut-eye?
