The incidence of cancer is increasing among teenagers and young adults. A study in the journal JAMA Network Open shows that for teens and adults up to age 40… cancer cases have increased by 30 percent since 1980. Among women, breast, cervical, uterine and thyroid cancers are most common… while for men, testicular, Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and melanoma are diagnosed most often. Researchers say kidney and gastrointestinal cancers are gaining fast.
This is the time to make new year’s resolutions… but mental health experts at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center say this year may not be the time to make big changes. With Covid, we’re already under enough stress, they say, and we’ve had to make a lot of changes just living day to day. So this year, resolve to make smaller changes… and be nice to yourself.
And finally… your Roomba may be spying on you. You probably already know that hackers can get into your Wi-Fi network through smart devices… but now a study presented to the SenSys 2020 convention finds that robot vacuum cleaners are especially good to spy on conversations. Scientists say if you don’t disconnect your robot vacuum from the internet, hackers can repurpose its laser-based navigation sensors into a microphone…and listen in on every word you say.
