The fashion choice that could help those with muscular dystrophy

The Myoshirt is a wearable device designed to assist those who have lost strength in their upper body. Research published in the journal, Nature Machine Intelligence, shows that wearing this exo-muscle could boost the endurance of those with muscular disease by nearly 60%.

Science proves that patience truly is a virtue

A study that appears in the journal Psychological Science shows the drawbacks of giving into instant gratification. Scientists suggest that waiting for a simple reward everyday, like when you eat, promotes more than just self-control. The research shows that delayed gratification can shape future life outcomes, such as academic success and health.

Do you know how to walk correctly?

Applying too much force while walking can be especially damaging to your knees. A study in Scientific Reports reveals how researchers are using a digital human that instructs people on which muscles to use as they walk. Participants who adjusted their strides based on the feedback reduced the pressure on their knees by almost 12% (Stanford University).

Diabetes makes you pay in more ways than just one

And finally… how diabetes makes you pay in more ways than just one. According to research that appears in Health Affairs, insulin has become nearly ten times more expensive in just 26 years. The study blames this rise on an increasingly complex supply chain, in which more players are seeking a piece of the profit. The researchers hope this evidence will aid in creating legislation to reduce insulin costs.
