Are you tired of drinking plastic?

Nanoplastics have gained attention as a rising health threat. They’ve infiltrated so many parts of our world that it’s hard to get away from them. Thankfully, researchers have developed a new method that removes more than 98 percent of these particles from water. The information is published in the journal, ACS Applied Engineering Materials

Why better sight may lead to better hearing.

New research published in Current Biology reveals that the brain decodes lip-read words in a similar way to spoken ones. In fact, they’re both deciphered in the region of the brain that processes sound. The scientists found that looking at a speaker’s lips can help the listener predict the next few words. The study suggests that understanding both visual and auditory cues significantly improves overall communication skills.

Why are kids so worried?

Since the pandemic, cases of anxiety have been on the rise in young people. So how can parents help ease their children’s anxious feelings? Alyssa Farley, a professor of psychology at Boston University, says the answer may seem counterintuitive. Instead of letting your child avoid distressing situations, farley advises parents to encourage their child to gradually face their fears.

Scientists have settled the ranch versus blue cheese debate – and it’s good news for cheese lovers.

Edible mold present in the cheese produces anti-fungal and antibacterial properties in high doses. Researchers have recently discovered how to extract these compounds without using dangerous chemicals in a new study published in ACS Biochemistry. Scientists hope this discovery will help reverse antibiotic resistance in humans, and there’s also promising data that it could help fight against cancer as well.
