Capturing these events has continued to be a challenge for neuroscientists relying on 2-d technology. Tesearchers have developed an app that converts your smartphone speaker into a low-pitched doppler radar to detect small vibrations caused by a baby’s heartbeat. The app aims to fill critical monitoring gaps between checkups and provide vital reassurance during high-risk pregnancies. The research is published in the Proceedings Of The ACM On Interactive, Mobile, Wearable And Ubiquitous Technologies.
